Learning Styles.<br />What’s a learning Style?<br />Each person has a different process and way of learning. According to the article “Learning styles: Implications for ESL/EFL instruction” learning styles are “internally based characteristics of individuals for the intake or understanding of new information”.<br />A learning style has elements; all these elements can be classified into five stimulus categories: <br />Environmental Elements.Emotional ElementsPhysical ElementsSociological ElementsPsychological ElementsSoundLightTemperatureDesignMotivationPersistenceResponsibilityPerceptionIntakeTimeMobilitySelfPartnerTeamMentorVariedGlobal/analyticalImpulsive/Reflective<br />There are 3 Learning Styles:<br />Visual Learning Style: Someone who has this learning style can learn in a better way by observing things such as pictures, handouts, charts, diagrams. They can carry out a new task after reading the instructions or watching someone do it first.<br />Auditory Learning Style: Someone who has this learning style learns by transferring information through listening such as: spoken words and sounds or noises. They can carry out a task in a better way by listening instructions.<br />Kinaesthetic Learning Style: Someone who has this learning style can learn in a better way by physical experience: touching and hands on experience and they carry out a task by doing it as they go.<br />If you know your learning style you will create a meaningful learning and you’ll know which strategy is better for you to learn.
